Psalm 63

God Grants Peace and Joy to the Faithful

A Psalm of David. When he was in the Wilderness of Judah.

1God, You are my God,
earnestly I seek You;

my soul thirsts for You,
my body faints for You, in a dry and thirsty land
where there is no water.   2 I have looked upon You in the sanctuary,
and beheld Your power and Your glory. 3 Your faithful love is better than life,
my lips will praise You. 4 So I will bless You as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul will be satisfied
as with choice food and abundance; my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.   6 On my bed I remember You;
I meditate on You during the night watches. 7 Because You are my help,
I rejoice in the shadow of Your wings. 8 My soul clings to You;
Your right hand upholds me.   9 But those who seek to destroy my life
will go down into the depths of the earth. 10 They will fall by the sword;
they will be a portion for jackals.   11 But the king will rejoice in God;
everyone who swears by Him will exult, but the mouths of liers will be silenced.
