1PROTECT me, O God,
for in You I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from You I have no goodness.”
3 As for the holy people who are in the land,
they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Those who chase after other gods
multiply their sorrows;
I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood,
or take up their names on my lips.
5 O Lord, You are my chosen portion and my cup;
You have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a goodly heritage.
7 I will bless the Lord who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord continually before me;
because He is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol,
nor will You suffer Your Holy One to see decay.
11 You have made known to me the path of life;
in Your presence there is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand are eternal pleasures.
