A Prayer for Forgiveness and Deliverance

A Psalm of David.

1TO You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2O my God, I trust in You; do not let me be put to shame;
do not let my enemies triumph over me. 3 No one who waits upon You
will be put to shame; but those who are treacherous without cause
will be put to shame.   4 Show me Your ways, O Lord;
teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all day long. 6 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercy and Your faithful love,
for they are from of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth
or my transgressions; according to Your faithful love remember me,
for the sake of Your goodness, O Lord.   8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore He instructs sinners in the way. 9 The humble He guides in what is right,
and He teaches them His ways. 10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,
for those who keep the decrees of His covenant of love. 11 For the sake of Your name, O Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great. 12 Which man is there, who fears the Lord?
Him He will instruct in the way chosen for him. 13 He will live a happy life,
and his descendants will inherit the land. 14 The Lord confides in those who fear Him;
He makes His faithful love known to them. 15 My eyes are ever on the Lord;
for He will free my feet from the net.   16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
bring me out of my sufferings. 18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble,
and take away all my sins. 19 Consider my enemies, for they are many,
and they hate me with cruel hatred. 20 Guard my life and deliver me;
do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. 21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for You.   22 Redeem Israel, O God,
from all their troubles.
