Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is the across from Jericho, and the Lord showed him the whole land: Gilead as far as Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, 3 the Negev, and the plain of the Valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob: ‘I will give it to your descendants’. I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.”
5 So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word the Lord had said. 6 He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows of his burial place to this day. 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eyes were not dimmed nor was his vigour diminished. 8 The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites had listened to him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
10 Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, 11 for all the signs and wonders that the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. before all his servants, and in all his land, 12 and for all the mighty power and terrifying deeds that Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
