2 which sends ambassadors by sea,
in papyrus vessels on the waters.
“Go, swift messengers,
to a people tall and smooth-skinned,
to a people feared near and far,

4 For this is what the Lord said to me,
“I will quietly look down from My dwelling place,
like clear heat in sunshine,

and the spreading branches He will hew down.

and to the wild animals of the land;
the birds of prey will summer on them,
and all the animals of the land will winter on them.”

from a people tall and smooth-skinned,
from a people feared near and far,
a nation aggressive and conquering,
whose land is divided by rivers—
to Mount Zion,
the place of the Name of the Lord of Hosts.
