Job the Shuhite answered:
2 “How you have helped the man who is without power!
How you have saved the arm that has no strength!
3 How you have counselled the man that has no wisdom!
How you have revealed such abundant insight!
4 To whom have you uttered these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?
5 “The dead tremble beneath the waters,
and all that inhabit them.
6 Sheol is naked before God,
and Abaddon has no covering.
7 He stretches out the northern skies over open space,
and hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He binds up the waters in His thick clouds,
yet the clouds are not torn under their weight.
9 He covers the view of His throne,
spreading thick clouds around it.
10 He laid out the horizon over the surface of the waters,
at the boundary betwseen light and darkness.
11 The pillars of the sky tremble,
and are aghast at His rebuke.
12 By His power He stirs up the sea;
and by His understanding He crushed Rahab.
13 By His breath the heavens gained their beauty;
His hand pierces the fleeing serpent.
14 Indeed these are but the outer fringe of His ways;
and how small a whisper we hear of Him!
Who then can understand the thunder of His mighty power?”
