any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare take it to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things pertaining to this life! 4 So if you have only ordinary cases, do you appoint those who have no standing in the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it possible that there is not one person among you wise enough to judge a dispute between his brothers? 6 But instead, brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
7 The fact that you have lawsuits at all against one another is already a total defeat for you. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brothers!
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither sexually immoral people, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy people, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 And this is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
12 “Everything is permissible for me”, but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me”, but I will not be dominated by anything. 13 “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food”, but God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 God raised up the Lord by His power, and He will raise us up also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that anyone who unites himself with a prostitute becomes one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh”. 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.
18 Flee from sexual immorality! Every sin that a person commits is outside the body, but the person who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
