the word of the Lord of Hosts came to me. 2 “This is what the Lord of Hosts says: ‘I am very jealous for Zion; I am fervently jealous for her’.”
This is what the Lord says: “I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of Hosts will be called the Holy Mountain”.
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Once again old men and women will sit again out in the streets of Jerusalem, each with walking stick in hand because of advanced age. 5 The streets of the city shall be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Though it seems incredible to the remnant of this people in those days, should it also seem incredible to Me?” declares the Lord of Hosts.
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “I will save My people from the land of the east and the land of the west. 8 I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem. And they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words spoken by the prophets when the foundation was laid for the rebuilding of the temple, the house of the Lord of Hosts. 10 Before those days there were no wages for man or beast. There was no safety from the enemy for anyone who came or went, for I had turned everyone against his neighbour. 11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days,” declares the Lord of Hosts.
“The seed shall been sown in peace, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will yield its increase, and the heavens will give their dew. I will give all these things to the remnant of this people as an inheritance. 13 Just as you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
For this is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Just as I had resolved to bring disaster upon you when your fathers provoked Me to anger, and I would not relent,” says the Lord of Hosts, 15 “so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and the house of Judah. Do not be afraid. 16 These are the things you must do: Speak the truth to each other; render true and sound judgments at your gates; 17 do not devise evil in your hearts against your neighbour; and do not love a false oath, for I hate all these things,” declares the Lord.
Again the word of the Lord of Hosts came to me. 19 This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “The fasting of the fourth month, the fasting of the fifth, the fasting of the seventh, and the fasting of the tenth will become seasons of joy and gladness, and cheerful festivals for the house of Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.”
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Peoples will yet come, and the inhabitants of many cities; 21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favour of the Lord, and to seek the Lord of Hosts. I myself am going’. 22 Many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the Lord’s favour.”
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “In those days, ten men from nations of every language will grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man tightly and say, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you’.”
