looked up again, and I saw four chariots coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were made of bronze. 2 The first chariot had red horses, the second chariot black horses, 3 the third chariot white horses, and the fourth chariot dappled horses—all strong horses. 4 So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”
5 The angel answered me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, who are going out from their place before the Lord of the whole earth. 6 The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the white horses are going after them, and the dappled horses are going to the land of the south.
7 As the strong horses went out, they were eager to pace throughout the earth. And the Lord said, “Go throughout the earth.” So they went throughout the earth.
8 Then He called out to me, “Look, those going toward the land of the north have given My Spirit rest in the north country.”
9 The word of the Lord came to me: 10 “Take a gift of silver and gold from the exiles Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon; and go that same day to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah. 11 Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak. 12 Then say to him: ‘This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Behold, the Man whose name is Branch. From His place He will branch out and build the Temple of the Lord. 13 Yes, it is He who will build the Temple of the Lord; He will be clothed with majesty and will sit on His throne and rule. There will also be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be held between the two of them. 14 The crown will be held as a memorial in the Temple of the Lord to Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen son of Zephaniah. 15 Even those who are far away will come and help to build the Temple of the Lord, and you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent Me to you. And this will happen if you diligently obey the Lord your God.”
