Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled people are to carry out the work in accordance with everything the Lord has commanded. The Lord has given them skill and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary.”
2 Then Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the Lord had given ability, everyone whose heart moved them to come and do the work. 3 They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought for the work of constructing the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued bringing freewill offerings morning after morning. 4 Then the craftsmen working on the sanctuary left their work and came 5 and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than is needed for doing the work the Lord has commanded us to do.”
6 So Moses issued the order and it was proclaimed throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to do anything more towards the contributions for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more, 7 because the materials they already had were more than enough to do all the work.
8 Bezalel and all the skilled craftsmen among the workers made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely spun linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim skilfully worked into them. 9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains were the same size. 10 He joined five curtains to each other, and the other five curtains he joined to each other. 11 Then he made loops of blue yarn along the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and he did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 12 He also made fifty loops on one curtain, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, with the loops positioned opposite each other. 13 Then he made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so the tabernacle became a single unit.
14 He made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven in total. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width four cubits, with all of the eleven curtains being the same size. 16 He joined five curtains together for one set, and six curtains for the other set. 17 He made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set. 18 He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a single unit. 19 Then he made a covering for the tent of ram skins dyed red and with a covering of fine leather over that.
20 He made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 21 The length of each frame was ten cubits, and the width a cubit and a half. 22 Each frame had two fixing points for fitting together. All the frames for the tabernacle were made this way. 23 He made all the frames for the tabernacle as follows: twenty frames for the south side; 24 and forty silver bases to go under the twenty frames—two sockets under each of the frames for its two fixing points. 25 For the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames, 26 with forty silver bases, two bases under the first frame and two bases each of the following frames. 27 For the rear of the tabernacle on the west side he made six frames. 28 He also made two frames for the corners at the back of the tabernacle. 29 These were doubled together from the bottom to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made this way for the two corners. 30 So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two bases under each of the frames.
31 He made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five crossbars for the frames on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for the frames of the tabernacle for the rear on the west side. 33 He made the middle crossbar to pass through the frames from one end to the other, halfway up the frames. 34 He overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
35 Then he made the curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with a design of cherubim skilfully worked into it. 36 He made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. He made gold hooks, and cast four silver bases for the posts.
37 He also made a screen for the entrance to the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen embroided with needlework, 38 together with its five posts and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold, but their five bases were made of bronze.
