fellow workers with God, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says,
“At an acceptable time, I heard you,
and in the day of salvation, I helped you.”
Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation.
3 We raise up no cause of stumbling to anyone, so that our ministry will not be blamed. 4 To the contrary, as servants of God, we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance; by afflictions, hardships, and distresses; 5 by beatings, imprisonments, and riots; by labours, sleepless nights, and times of hunger; 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness; by the Holy Spirit, sincere love, 7 truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left; 8 through honour and dishonour, bad report and good report; regarded as deceivers, yet being true; 9 as unknown yet recognized; as dying, and look—we live on; as being chastened, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
11 We have spoken freely to you, O Corinthians, and our hearts are opened wide to you. 12 We do not withhold our affections from you, but you are restricted by your own affections. 13 Now in return—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What treaty does Christ have with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live in them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be My people.
17 Therefore, come out from among them
and be separate,”
says the Lord.
“Do not touch any unclean thing,
and I will welcome you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you,
and you will be My sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.
