behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will become stubble. That day which is coming will burn them up,” says the Lord of Hosts, “leaving them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out leaping about joyfully like calves released from the stall. 3 Then you will trample down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I am preparing,” says the Lord of Hosts.
4 “Remember the law of My servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
5 “Behold, I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible Day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
