Pay attention, O house of Israel!
Listen, O royal house!
This judgment is against you:
You have been a snare at Mizpah,
and a net spread out on Tabor.
2 The rebels are deeply involved in slaughter,
but I will punish them all.
3 I know about Ephraim;
Israel is not hidden from Me.
For now you have turned to prostitution, O Ephraim;
Israel is defiled.
4 “Their deeds do not permit them
to return to their God.
A spirit of prostitution is in their hearts,
and they do not know the Lord.
5 Israel’s arrogance testifies against him.
Israel, even Ephraim, stumble in their wickedness;
Judah also stumbles with them.
6 With their flocks and herds
they go to seek the Lord,
but they do not find Him;
He has withdrawn Himself from them.
7 They are unfaithful to the Lord;
they gave birth to illegitimate children.
Now their Moon festivals will devour
them along with their fields.
8 “Blow the horn in Gibeah,
the trumpet in Ramah.
Raise the battle cry in Beth-aven;
lead on, O Benjamin!
9 Ephraim will become a desolation
on the day of reckoning.
Among the tribes of Israel
I announce what is certain.
10 The princes of Judah are like those
who move boundary markers;
I will pour out My wrath on them
like a flood of water.
11 Ephraim is oppressed,
crushed in judgment,
because he was determined to go after folly.
12 So I am like a moth to Ephraim,
and rottenness to the house of Judah.
13 “When Ephraim saw his sickness,
and Judah saw his wound,
then Ephraim turned to Assyria,
and sent to the great king for help.
But he is not able to cure you
or heal your wound.
14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim,
and like a young lion to the house of Judah.
I Myself will tear them to pieces and go away;
I will carry them off, and no one will rescue them.
15 Then I will go back to My place
until they acknowledge their guilt
and seek My face;
in their distress they will earnestly seek Me.
